See The Muay Thai Side Of Cosens

Sharp combinations, powerful kicks, knees, footwork, padwork, defense, and conditioning. This is the striking side of the MMA curriculum.

This page focuses on Muay Thai because striking is one of the most exciting parts of what we teach. Your MMA Starter Pass introduces the broader system, where Muay Thai works alongside boxing, takedowns, grappling, defense, and other MMA skills.

Why People Get Hooked On Muay Thai

Muay Thai gives you a workout with a purpose. Every round asks you to move better, hit cleaner, stay balanced, defend intelligently, and keep thinking while you’re tired.

1

Eight-Limb Striking

Learn how punches, kicks, knees, and elbows create a complete striking toolbox instead of relying on your hands alone.

2

Timing & Distance

Develop a better feel for range, footwork, rhythm, defense, and when an opening is actually there.

3

Conditioning With A Skill

Improve endurance, coordination, balance, and power while practicing something technical instead of just doing another circuit.

4

Progress You Can Feel

A kick lands cleaner. Your combinations flow. Your breathing settles down. You can see and feel yourself becoming more capable.

Muay Thai Is A Major Piece Of A Complete MMA Skill Set

We feature Muay Thai heavily because it matters. The goal is not to learn striking in a vacuum. It is to understand how striking works when takedowns, clinches, grappling, and real MMA movement are also part of the picture.

1

Hands, Kicks & Knees

Build combinations using punches, round kicks, front kicks, knees, and other striking tools with proper stance and mechanics.

2

Clinch, Balance & Defense

Learn how posture, frames, movement, defense, and clinch awareness affect what happens when the distance closes.

3

MMA Transitions

Understand what changes when a striker also has to account for takedowns, grappling, range changes, and getting back to a strong position.

Starting Is Simple

You do not need gloves, fight experience, great cardio, or the flexibility to kick someone in the head. Start with two beginner MMA lessons and learn from zero.

See The Full Training Environment

Muay Thai is a major part of the striking, but Adult MMA goes beyond one range. See the coaching, movement, striking, grappling, teamwork, and beginner-friendly environment that make up the full program.

Technical, Controlled, And Beginner Friendly

Learning Muay Thai does not mean walking into a room and getting punched in the face. Beginners learn progressively through coaching, padwork, drills, and controlled partner work.

No Hard Sparring Required

You are not expected to fight, compete, or jump straight into hard sparring to participate.

Controlled Partner Work

Contact is introduced progressively with clear expectations, appropriate partners, and an emphasis on control.

Technique Before Power

You learn stance, balance, mechanics, defense, and accuracy before worrying about how hard you can hit.

Trained, Background-Checked Coaches

Every coach completes Cosens Martial Arts Instructor Training and is background checked before working with students.

You Do Not Need To Be Fast, Flexible, Or In Fighting Shape

Most beginners are not. That is why you start with beginner lessons instead of being thrown into advanced training.

You will learn the stance, movement, basic strikes, and defensive ideas one piece at a time. Expect to feel awkward at first. That is what learning a new physical skill feels like. You do not have to impress anybody.

Bringing It Back To Cosens

The purpose is not imitation. It is continued learning that influences how striking is taught inside the Cosens system.

These videos show the Muay Thai influence behind the Cosens curriculum. Your Fenton Starter Pass is still an introduction to the complete Adult MMA program.
